This is just a short summary of at least some of the things that hogged my attention these past few weeks. All of this is about my spare time (I work a regular job with 40 hours per week).

I'm finishing an article (which I'll submit to Board Game Studies Journal) about the Game of Seven. It's a dice game with a staking board, often referred to as Glückshaus (House of Luck, Maison de la Chance), but that's a modern version and name. Older variants are the anti-semitic Jeu du Juif, Gioco della barca, and Arlequinspel/ Zevenzak. I want to add in another reference, reformat the references, and pick illustrations. I'm in contact to order some reproductions from a museum, because I have only small black&white images from a catalogue that's almost half a century old.

For the bibliographic references I've used the Zotero integration with Libre Office for the first time. I really like Libre Office, but I haven't warmed to Zotero yet. Before that I used LitLink, which was clunkier than Zotero, but more flexible. On the other hand, I didn't/couldn't (?) integrate it with my text editor.

Parallel to that I picked up research about an early modern card game (Turmspiel or Mundten). I posted on the members' forum of the International Playing-Card Society about this and got some great help, especially from Thierry Depaulis who is an international expert. He was kind enough to send me his notes about the game. It was satisfying to find help and further material on this card game. It's still all rather puzzling.

Over the last few months I prepared the founding of a charitable club to foster the activities for/around the choir Unicante which I've been part of (in various roles) for many years now. We've founded it a few days ago, and while there's still stuff to do, the onus is no longer on me to push forward.

The most time-consuming thing, however, was and is Gratisrollenspieltag (GRT) right now. It's the equivalent of Free RPG Day for German-speaking countries. I've organized our local event since 2013 (the first year of the event), but also became one of the nationwide/ international organizers in 2016/2017. I've been pulling a lot of weight this year, since one of the co-organizers had less time than usual this year. It's a lot of communication to handle, but also satisfying to see things coming together. This year's GRT is on March 23.
